Building a Community Brand

Developing a strong branding campaign raises community awareness and develops a sense of pride.

People from over 170 countries, speaking more than 147 languages call Broward County home.  From 23 miles of beaches in the east, to the Florida Everglades in the west, we are a diverse and inclusive community that’s 31 municipalities strong.  Together with civic leaders, partners and residents, we’re working for the common good.

Building a Community Brand - Goals & Strategies

  • Conduct rebranding research from other communities as well as review existing local research from partner organizations.
  • Explore best name options for the county that helps us compete in the existing marketplace and showcases our best assets, culture, and place - including recognition/consideration of existing names.
  • Create a marketing plan that will help make a case for establishing a unified name that best represents the County.
  • Create a branding committee that includes representation from our multiple municipalities and organizations.
  • Enhance our community pride and recognition. 

Live where you vacation

 In 2019, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, created a marketing campaign called "Live Where You Vacation" that was targeted to college students on vacation in Greater Fort Lauderdale during Spring Break.

Experience Hollywood

In the City of Hollywood, one can enjoy a Symphony of the Americas concert under the stars in the ArtsPark at Young Circle, catch a contemporary art exhibition at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, experience live theater at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center or stroll along the historic downtown Hollywood Boulevard monthly art walk and experience live music, mid-Eastern dancing and a myriad of gallery openings.
