The Prosperity Partnership serves as a platform that elevates our communities’ top economic and social issues, putting them at the forefront of our residents and decision makers. We shine the spotlight on our collective successes and achievements that ensure that we make a positive and lasting impact in the lives of others as well as those who will come in future generations. As a collective, we have identified 11 pillars that are at the core of our future success.
The Prosperity Partnership prioritizes its efforts to effect prosperity in:
To power prosperity for all.
To lead a collective impact initiative with a focus on creating an inclusive economy that creates high-wage jobs, vibrant communities, and global competitiveness.
The participants share a vision of change and a commitment to solving a problem by coordinating their work; they agree on shared goals.
Participants also agree to measure or monitor many of the same things, so that they can learn across the initiative, and hold each other accountable.
To be most effective, the activities of all the participants are coordinated by a “backbone,” which could be a single organization, a single person, or a steering committee that represents all the participants.
Activities of the initiative are described as "mutually reinforcing" because they are designed to remind all participants that they depend on each other to move the initiative forward. Mutually reinforcing activities ensure that the activities of the participants are aligned; directed towards shared measurement, and are making progress towards a common goal(s).
Finally, a successful collective impact initiative depends on resources to keep it going, and consistent and open communication between all the participants, so that everyone is informed and stays motivated over time.
We acknowledge our past as we move forward to create economic opportunity and prosperity for all communities. We make racial equity the foundation of our community and economic development work. While racial equity is the primary lens to focus our efforts, we understand the connection between racism and other forms of bias that lead to oppression. Within our workplace and working with our partners, we embrace values of authentic inclusion, transparency, and collaboration. We work toward nothing less than an anti-racist Broward County that welcomes and serves all communities and perspectives. We encourage our partners to do the same.
