Economic Mobility - Prosperity Broward

The Economic Mobility Pillar (Prosperity Broward) is a unique initiative of the Prosperity Partnership. The Prosperity Broward initiative is driving economic mobility through a community-focused lens. Prosperity Broward is engaging municipal leaders, funders, educational institutions, social service and faith-based organizations, business leaders, and residents to make a bold commitment to collaboration and coordination to create system changes to overcome decades of structural racism and lack of equal opportunities and resources in the economic-challenged communities.

Economic Mobility (PB) - Goals & strategies

  1. Coordinate and align services and providers across the county to promote social services for residents.
  2. Equip residents with skills to match prospective employers’ needs.
  3. Leverage employer connections to increase the probability of ongoing job recruitment from the targeted zip codes.
  4. Advocate for policy changes that will eradicate system barriers in the zip codes.

Lauderdale lakes pliot

Prosperity Broward is launching a ground-breaking pilot project to increase economic mobility through policy and system changes. To identify the area and population for the pilot, Prosperity Broward's Data Working Group analyzed our local communities, which identified single mothers from Lauderdale Lakes as the segment of our population experiencing the highest level of disparities.

2019 Claim your Future Showcase Event

 More than 1,300 students from across Broward County Public Schools gathered at the BB&T Center in Sunrise for the Annual Claim Your Future Showcase. Students learned about a wide range of career opportunities and even took part in mock-job interviews with industry professionals.
