The Prosperity Partnership (formerly Six Pillars Broward) is a collective impact initiative of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance Foundation (501c3), that is supported by numerous business and community partners who are implementing a strategic plan to help guide Broward County toward a future inclusive economy that includes high-wage jobs, global competitiveness, and vibrant communities by the year 2030.
The Prosperity Partnership serves as a platform that elevates our communities’ top economic and social issues. As a collective, we have identified eleven Prosperity Pillars that are at the core of our communities’ future success.
The Prosperity Pillars
Affordable Housing
Vision – The vision of the Affordable Housing Pillar is for all Broward residents to have access to safe, affordable housing which promotes a community of economic prosperity and enhanced quality of life.
Mission – As the most urgent issue in Broward, the mission of the Affordable Housing Pillar is to implement strategies in the Housing Broward plan including advocating for a permanent, dedicated funding source and innovative affordable housing policies.
Community Branding
Vision – For our County to be recognized nationally and internationally as a vibrant destination for business location, talent attraction, tourism, and quality of life by creating a shared identity, common name, and brand across all platforms.
Mission – Identify a brand that connects and unifies our diverse communities and showcases our unique assets.
Economic Mobility
Vision – To create system changes to overcome decades of structural racism and lack of equal opportunities and resources in the economic-challenged communities.
Mission – To effectively engage municipal leaders, funders, educational institutions, social service and faith-based organizations, business leaders, and residents to make a bold commitment to collaboration and coordination.
Education
Vision – To develop a world-class educational ecosystem that aligns curriculum with our business community’s needs to ensure we have a skilled workforce that is prepared for the jobs of today and tomorrow.
Mission – To provide all with the necessary educational tools and resources that will enable our community members the ability to pursue high-wage careers, achieve economic mobility, and attain a better quality of life.
Entrepreneurship
Vision – Cultivate and accelerate entrepreneurs positioning South Florida as a global epicenter of innovation.
Mission – Activating a culture of innovation and entrepreneurial mindset through company creation, funding, scaling, and exits.
Homelessness
Vision – An informed community whose goal about homelessness is to be rare and brief.
Mission – A strategic, coordinated community effort, to create and implement a unified plan that leads to the reduction of homelessness.
Social Justice & Racial Equity
Vision – A county free of structural and systemic racism such that Prosperity and quality of life outcomes are not determined by race.
Mission – Connect people to racial equity education, partnerships, data, and organizing efforts to create systemic change in Broward with a focus on the business community.
Resiliency
Vision – To be an epicenter of innovative solutions that inspires others to be a part of the resilient redesign of our region.
Mission – Achieve regional ownership of resilient planning and investments to ensure South Florida is ready and capable to address climate impacts.
Talent Hub
Vision – To transition Broward to become a net importer, retainer, and creator of talent.
Mission – Attract, create, and retain talent by broadcasting sustainable talent in our region with a robust educational and employment support system.
Target Industries
Vision – Greater Fort Lauderdale is known as an exciting, inclusive, forward-thinking community with high-value targeted industries, top talent, vibrant communities, and high quality of life for our citizens.
Mission – To improve Broward County's economic well-being through job creation, job retention, tax base enhancements, and quality of life.
Transportation
Vision – A world-class intermodal transportation system that drives economic prosperity for all.
Mission – Supporting the development, design, and construction of sustainable multi-modal transportation projects throughout the county, to meet the demand of residents, travelers, and businesses.
